Plain-language summary (not a substitute for the full Terms)
Housy is a technology platform that connects you with independent, background-checked home-service professionals (“Partners”). Partners — not Housy — perform the cleaning and are responsible for how the work is carried out, including any damage they cause through negligence. To keep your home and belongings safe, please secure fragile, valuable, and sentimental items before a visit and tell us about anything delicate. Full detail is below.
01Acceptance of Terms#
By creating an account, booking a service, or otherwise accessing or using the Housy mobile application, website at housy.co.in, and any related services (collectively, the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”), our Privacy Policy, and our Refund & Cancellation Policy, each of which is incorporated here by reference.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Platform. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
02Definitions#
- “Company”, “Housy”, “we”, “us” means Lank Hospitality Private Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of India, with its registered office at Satara Road, Pune, Maharashtra 411037.
- “Customer”, “you” means any person who registers for, accesses, or books a service through the Platform.
- “Partner” means an independent third-party service professional who offers home services through the Platform. Partners are not employees, agents, or representatives of the Company.
- “Services” means the home-services (including cleaning, utensil washing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, ironing, and related tasks) performed by Partners that you book through the Platform.
- “Housy Kit” means the optional, separately-priced bundle of cleaning supplies and consumables that you may add to a booking. Supplies are not included in the base price unless expressly purchased.
- “Booking” means a confirmed request for Services scheduled through the Platform.
03Nature of the Platform — Intermediary Only#
Housy operates an online marketplace and technology platform that facilitates connections between Customers seeking home services and independent Partners who provide them. Housy is an “intermediary” within the meaning of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Housy does not itself perform the Services
The actual home services are performed by independent Partners using their own skill and judgement. Housy does not supervise, direct, or control the manner, method, or result of the work performed at your premises, and does not guarantee the acts, omissions, conduct, or workmanship of any Partner beyond the remedies expressly set out in these Terms and the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Housy verifies Partner identity and conducts background screening before onboarding, and provides training and quality frameworks. These measures reduce, but do not eliminate, risk, and do not make Housy the provider, employer, or guarantor of the Services.
04Eligibility & Accounts#
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to use the Platform. The Platform is currently intended for use within the service areas where Housy operates.
Account security
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information and keep it up to date.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and one-time passwords.
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use or security breach.
We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or where required to protect Customers, Partners, or the Platform.
05Bookings, Scheduling & Access#
- All bookings are subject to Partner availability and confirmation through the Platform. A booking is confirmed only when you receive in-app and/or SMS confirmation.
- You must ensure safe, lawful, and timely access to the premises at the scheduled time, including any building entry, lift, parking, or security clearances required for the Partner to perform the Services.
- You must ensure the premises have a functional water supply, electricity, and adequate lighting where these are needed for the Services.
- Estimated durations, arrival windows, and ETAs are advisory and may vary due to traffic, site conditions, or scope discovered on arrival.
- Housy does not guarantee that a specific Partner will be assigned to any booking, although preferences are honoured where reasonably possible.
06Pricing, Payments & Taxes#
- Prices are displayed on the Platform before you confirm a booking and are computed by our backend pricing engine, which is authoritative.
- Prices may include a service charge, applicable travel/distance fee, and the cost of any optional Housy Kit you add. Cleaning supplies are not included unless the Housy Kit or an equivalent add-on is purchased.
- Applicable taxes (including GST) are charged as required by law and shown on your bill. Some prices are displayed inclusive of tax; where this is the case it is indicated at checkout.
- Additional or out-of-scope work identified on site may be quoted and charged separately, subject to your approval.
- Payment is due as indicated at the time of booking or upon completion of the Services, through the payment methods made available on the Platform (UPI, cards, net banking, or cash where offered).
- Promotional offers, coupons, and credits are subject to their own terms, may be withdrawn at any time, and carry no cash value.
07Cancellation, Rescheduling & No-Shows#
Cancellations, rescheduling, no-shows, and the associated fees and refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary, cancellations close to the scheduled time, and failure to provide access at the scheduled time (a “no-show”), may attract a fee.
08Customer Responsibilities & Conduct#
You agree to:
- Treat Partners with dignity and respect, and maintain a safe, lawful, and non-hostile environment free from harassment, abuse, or discrimination.
- Provide a workplace free of foreseeable hazards, and disclose in advance any condition that could pose a risk (for example, aggressive pets, unstable fixtures, electrical faults, biohazards, or recently treated surfaces).
- Not ask, instruct, or pressure a Partner to perform tasks outside the scope of the booking, tasks that are unsafe, tasks requiring climbing to unsafe heights, lifting heavy objects, or handling hazardous substances.
- Supervise or arrange supervision of minors and dependents during the visit; Partners are not childcare, eldercare, or pet-care providers.
- Pay for Services rendered and report any issue promptly through the Platform.
- Comply with all applicable laws in connection with your use of the Platform and the premises.
Zero tolerance for unsafe or abusive conduct
For the safety of our Partners, any harassment, intimidation, unwelcome advances, or unsafe instruction entitles the Partner to stop work and leave immediately. In such cases no refund is payable, and we may suspend or terminate your account.
09Valuables, Fragile & High-Value Items#
Secure delicate and valuable items before every visit
You are in the best position to protect your belongings. Before a visit, please secure or remove from the work area any items that are fragile, antique, breakable, irreplaceable, of high monetary or sentimental value, or otherwise delicate — including but not limited to glassware, crockery, chinaware, mirrors, showpieces, idols, electronics, screens, artwork, jewellery, cash, documents, watches, and collectibles.
Where such items are left unsecured in the work area, or where their fragility, value, or special handling requirement is not disclosed to the Partner in advance, you accept that there is an inherent risk of accidental damage during cleaning, and any claim relating to those items is subject to the limitations in Section 11 (Property Damage & Breakage) below.
10Service Standards & Remedies#
We want every visit to meet a high standard. If you are not satisfied with the quality of a completed Service:
- 1Report the issue through the Platform within 24 hours of completion, with photographs where relevant.
- 2We will review the report and, where the complaint is verified, may arrange a re-service of the affected area at no additional charge, or provide a partial or full credit/refund, at our reasonable discretion and as set out in the Refund Policy.
- 3Re-service is the primary remedy for quality issues. Refunds are issued where re-service is impractical or where you decline a reasonable re-service offer.
Quality remedies do not apply to dissatisfaction arising from tasks outside the booked scope, pre-existing soiling that cannot be fully remediated in a single standard visit, or conditions disclosed and accepted at booking.
11Property Damage & Breakage#
Who is responsible
Partners are independent contractors and are solely responsible for loss or damage to your property that is directly and proximately caused by their own proven negligence or wilful misconduct while performing the Services. Housy is not the provider of the Services and does not assume the Partner’s liability, but — as a goodwill measure and to maintain trust — Housy will facilitate and help administer eligible damage claims as described below.
How to raise a damage claim
- 1Report the damage to the Partner on site (if noticed immediately) and to Housy through the Platform or support@housy.co.in within 24 hours of the visit.
- 2Provide clear photographs and/or video of the damaged item, a description of how the damage occurred, and reasonable proof of the item's value (such as a purchase invoice).
- 3Allow Housy and/or the Partner a reasonable opportunity to inspect the item and investigate before disposal or repair.
How eligible claims are resolved
Where a claim is verified as caused by Partner negligence, resolution may take the form of repair, replacement of like kind and quality, or reasonable monetary compensation, determined by Housy acting reasonably. Compensation is based on the depreciated fair market value of the item, not its original or replacement-as-new cost, and is subject to the overall liability cap in Section 17.
What is excluded
No claim will be entertained for, and no party is liable for:
- Fragile, breakable, antique, high-value, or sentimental items (including glassware, mirrors, idols, showpieces, electronics, and artwork) that were left unsecured in the work area or whose fragility or value was not disclosed in advance — see Section 9.
- Pre-existing damage, defects, ordinary wear and tear, loose fittings, weak fixtures, hairline cracks, or items already in a fragile, worn, or improperly installed condition.
- Damage that is the natural and unavoidable consequence of the cleaning method appropriate to the surface, or that results from following your specific instruction.
- Cash, jewellery, watches, important documents, data, or any item that should reasonably have been removed or locked away before the visit.
- Consequential, indirect, or sentimental loss, loss of use, or any amount exceeding the depreciated fair market value of the specific item.
- Claims reported more than 24 hours after the visit, claims without reasonable proof, or claims where inspection was refused or the item was repaired/discarded before investigation.
Housy's role is to facilitate, not to insure
Housy is not an insurer and does not provide a guarantee against all damage. The administration of a claim by Housy does not constitute an admission of liability by Housy and does not transfer the Partner’s responsibility to Housy. You may also pursue the Partner directly for any loss you believe is attributable to them.
12Independent Contractor Status of Partners#
Partners are independent contractors who operate their own businesses. Nothing in these Terms or in the operation of the Platform creates an employment, agency, partnership, joint-venture, or franchise relationship between Housy and any Partner, or between you and Housy. Housy does not control the day-to-day means and methods by which Partners perform Services, and Partners are responsible for their own taxes, tools, and conduct.
13Prohibited Conduct#
You must not:
- Solicit, hire, or pay any Partner for home services outside the Platform, or otherwise circumvent the Platform to avoid fees, for a period of 12 months after your last interaction with that Partner through Housy.
- Use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose, or to harass, threaten, or defame any person.
- Misrepresent your identity, address, or the scope or condition of the premises.
- Interfere with, disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform or its systems.
- Upload malicious code, post false reviews, or manipulate ratings, coupons, or referral programmes.
- Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of Housy, Partners, or any third party.
14Intellectual Property#
The Platform, including the “Housy” name and logo, software, designs, text, graphics, and all related intellectual property, is owned by or licensed to the Company and is protected by applicable laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works without our prior written consent. Feedback you provide may be used by us without restriction or obligation to you.
15Third-Party Services#
The Platform relies on third-party services — including payment gateways, mapping and location providers, communications, and analytics providers. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, content, or availability of third parties, and do not endorse them.
16Disclaimers#
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform and the Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any defect will be corrected. We do not warrant any particular outcome, result, or level of cleanliness beyond the remedies expressly provided in these Terms.
17Limitation of Liability#
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Company, its directors, officers, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, goodwill, data, or use, arising out of or relating to the Platform or the Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
The Company’s total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to a booking shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you to Housy for that specific booking.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Indian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by proven gross negligence, or for fraud.
18Indemnification#
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Company and its directors, officers, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your misuse of the Platform; (c) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party, including any Partner; (d) any unsafe, hazardous, or undisclosed condition at your premises; or (e) any content or information you submit.
19Assumption of Risk#
You understand that allowing service professionals into your home carries inherent risks, and that cleaning activities involve handling surfaces, fixtures, and belongings. By booking a Service, you voluntarily assume the ordinary risks associated with home-cleaning activities, subject to the Partner’s responsibility for damage caused by proven negligence as set out in Section 11.
20Force Majeure#
Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, epidemics or pandemics, government action, civil unrest, strikes, utility or network failures, or other force-majeure events. Affected obligations are suspended for the duration of the event.
21Suspension & Termination#
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, engaged in unsafe or abusive conduct, or where required by law or to protect the Platform, Partners, or other users. You may stop using the Platform at any time and may request account deletion via our account-deletion page. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and dispute resolution) will survive.
22Dispute Resolution & Arbitration#
- 1Good-faith resolution: The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute amicably by contacting our Grievance Officer (Section 24).
- 2Arbitration: Any dispute not resolved within 30 days shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration by a sole arbitrator appointed by the Company, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat and venue of arbitration shall be Pune, Maharashtra, and the language shall be English.
- 3Subject to arbitration, the courts at Pune, Maharashtra shall have exclusive jurisdiction. The arbitrator's award shall be final and binding.
23Governing Law & Jurisdiction#
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Subject to the arbitration provisions above, the courts at Pune, Maharashtra shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any matter arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
24Grievance Officer#
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder, the contact details of the Grievance Officer are below. The Grievance Officer will acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and endeavour to resolve them within a reasonable time.

26General Provisions#
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy and Refund policies, constitute the entire agreement between you and Housy and supersede prior agreements on the subject.
- Severability: If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
